I was reading in the Book of Acts recently and something jumped out at me in the third chapter. Acts 3:1-8 (1) Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.(3:00pm) (2) And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; (3) Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. (4) And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. (5) And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. (6) Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I theeIn the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. (7) And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. (8) And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. This man was totally handicapped from birth and depended on the money others gave him to survive. His focus was shifting from person to person as they entered the temple to pray. Peter told the crippled man to focus his attention on them and not on everyone else. When we are in the midst of a difficult situation what we focus our attention on is of the utmost importance. The man gave Peter his attention expecting money but he was about to receive something that he needed even more. Peter told him that he and John did not have what he thought he needed, but they did have what he actually needed. The money the man got everyday provided his needs for that that particular day. Peter knew that what he had would supply his needs for the rest of his life. Peter said I do not have any money but what I do have I will give unto you. I have the power that the Name of Jesus provides. This power will cause your feet and ankle bones that have been too weak to walk from birth to immediately receive strength. There are times when money will not solve our problems but the Name of Jesus will solve every problem that we will ever face. Every born again believer has this power available regardless of the size of his or her bank accountWe have been given power of attorney to use the Name of Jesus but we have to learn to use His Name properly to get results. We see this clearly in Acts 3:16. And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. The Name of Jesus is energized by faith. Develop faith in the Name of Jesus and speak that name in time of trouble and such as you have will make you stand strong and give you perfect soundness. God bless.
